The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory forecasting widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across various regions of the country over the next 24 hours. However, the southern port city of Karachi is expected to continue experiencing intense heat, with daytime temperatures ranging between 35°C and 39°C.
According to the advisory, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are likely in most districts, with the possibility of hail in some areas. Heavy rainfall is particularly expected in Islamabad and its surrounding localities.
In the northern regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, scattered rain and thunderstorms are anticipated.
In Punjab, dry and hot weather will prevail in most districts, although rainfall is predicted in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, and Chakwal. Thunderstorm activity is also expected in cities such as Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Sindh and Balochistan will largely remain hot and dry, but showers are expected in parts of Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Lasbela, and Awaran. Rain is also likely in Sukkur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, and Shaheed Benazirabad, while isolated thunderstorms may affect Khairpur and surrounding areas.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected, with rain forecast in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohistan, Waziristan, Kohat, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Karak, Khyber, Bajaur, Mohmand, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, and Mardan.
