Following the leak of a seven-minute explicit video that brought sudden notoriety to a couple popularly referred to online as the “Umairi couple”, conflicting claims regarding their current whereabouts and fate are circulating widely on social media.
Several social media posts allege that Umairi, who gained attention after the video went viral, was allegedly killed in a staged encounter by the CCD. According to these claims, he was eliminated without due legal process.
Some social media activists, particularly on Facebook, have expressed concern, stating that killing a poor citizen without a court trial under the guise of an alleged “accidental discharge” constitutes a grave injustice.
However, other users have questioned the credibility of these claims. They argue that the couple was originally from Sialkot and that the incident in question actually occurred three years ago, not recently.
According to these accounts, when the video first surfaced three years earlier, the couple was allegedly killed by their own relatives.
It is further claimed that Umairi’s mobile phone remained in police custody, and that someone later copied the footage and leaked it again, causing it to resurface and go viral years after the original incident.
As of now, no independent or official source has confirmed any version of these claims.
It remains unclear whether the incident is indeed several years old, whether the couple had already been killed, or whether Umairi was recently killed in an alleged fake encounter by the CCD.
The absence of verified information has left the matter shrouded in uncertainty, with speculation continuing to spread across digital platforms.
