SWAT: Counter-terrorism Department (CTD) police on Wednesday claimed to have killed two alleged terrorists in an encounter in suburb area of Swat.
According to CTD officials, on an intelligence reports about the presence of some wanted militants in the area, a CTD team conducted a targeted operation in the suburb area of Swat.
“Seeing CTD team the terrorists opened fire, however during an exchange of firing two terrorist were killed on the spot”, said CTD officials.
The officials further said that the alleged terrorists wanted to police in a numbers of heinous crimes, adding that they were trying to enter in Swat from Dir.
The CTD team also claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from their possession. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
On February 23, the Counter Terrorism Department personnel had registered case of an encounter within Regi police station limit here, in which five suspected terrorists had been killed.
According to the FIR filed at the CTD police station, 10 to 12 terrorists had entered in Pakistan from Afghanistan to carry out attacks on security forces in Charsadda, Peshawar, Malakand and Mohmand areas.
However, the CTD officials after getting intelligence report about presence of terrorists had launched an operation and killed them.
