THATTA: Thatta police claimed to have arrested two suspects wanted to police in the murder case of a woman and her four children.
Thatta SSP Dr Muhammad Imran Khan confirmed that two suspects involved in the killing arrested while another yet to be arrested, the police official added. The SSP that the arrested suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation.
Earlier, a case was registered over the murder of the woman and the four kids, who were found dead a day prior to a house in Jhimpir Thatta.
Three accused including a woman had been identified and nominated in the case registered on behalf of the deceased woman’s mother.
Police had told the deceased woman had belonged to the Kolhi tribe of interior Sindh and that the woman’s husband had died earlier, added that the children were aged between 10, 7, 5 and 6 respectively.
Postmortem report at Civil Hospital Thatta in Makli was completed and the report indicated that all five were strangulated by tying ropes around their necks.
The body of a woman and her four minor children were found in a hut in a village near Jhimpir on Monday. Police officials had taken the bodies into custody and shifted them to Civil Hospital Thatta in Makli for medico-legal formalities.
