In a tragic incident, two minor boys drowned to death while swimming in a stream near Korangi Causeway in Karachi.
The deceased children were residents of Manzoor Colony and had come to the area along with friends for a picnic when the tragic incident occurred.
According to details, the incident took place in the Korangi Industrial Area police jurisdiction near Korangi Causeway, where several children were bathing in the stream due to intense heat. During swimming, two of them drowned.
Police reached the scene after being alerted and called Rescue 1122 divers for assistance. The rescue team conducted a search operation and recovered both bodies, which were later shifted to a hospital via Chhipa Ambulance for legal formalities.
A Rescue 1122 spokesperson identified the deceased as 10-year-old Salar, son of Muhammad Imtiaz, and 12-year-old Fahad Hussain, son of Khurshid Ahmed.
SHO Korangi Industrial Area, Hukumdad, said that four to five children had come to the stream for swimming due to the extreme heat when the incident occurred. After the drowning, other children informed the police helpline 15, following which police and rescue teams arrived at the scene.
After completing legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to the families. Both children were residents of Manzoor Colony.
