Pakistan’s security forces have killed 27 militants during a major operation in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military said a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain militants, including individuals allegedly involved in the targeted killing of prominent tribal figure Malik Saifullah Dawar.
According to an ISPR statement, intelligence-based operations are continuing against militant hideouts in the region. Security forces targeted multiple militant locations in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan.
The military said intense exchanges of fire took place during the operations, resulting in the deaths of 27 militants belonging to what the statement described as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”

ISPR said that a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants, who were allegedly involved in terrorist activities and the killing of innocent civilians.
The military further said that those killed included individuals involved in the targeted assassination of Malik Saifullah Dawar in Miranshah. According to the statement, the operation brought those responsible for his killing to justice.
A military spokesperson said clearance and search operations are continuing to eliminate any remaining militants hiding in the area. Security forces and law enforcement agencies are continuing counterterrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative and remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
