Two labourers killed, four injured in Kohistan landslide

KOHISTAN: Two labourers were killed and four others injured when they were trapped under a landslide at Kiyal Pul Ground Kohistan on Wednesday.
According to the police sources, a landslide hit a group of labourers while they were digging stones for construction from a nearby hill at Kiyal Pul Ground.
As a result, they all buried under the debris of the landslide and two of them were killed at the spot and four others were critically injured, police added.
Soon after the incident, locals reached the spot and have rescued the injured from the debris. They were identified as Riaz, Sardar, Zia ur Rehman and Nisar.
The injured were shifted to a hospital where doctors declared them critical and referred to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad. The deceased were identified as Marmatab and Rasoon Khan.
Earlier on February 22, At least eight people died when a marble mine collapsed in the Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to initials reports, several people were also injured in the incident. More deaths are feared many miners are still buried under rubble.
DPO Sohail Khalid said eight bodies were pulled out the rubble, adding that more deaths are feared many miners are still buried under the debris.
Soon after the incident, the rescue operation, which included the helping hands of the local people, is underway to recover the people.
The injured along with the bodies have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Buner for autopsies and treatment respectively.
