TEXAS: At least two people were killed and one other injured in an armed attack at a church in the suburbs of Fort Worth, Texas.
According to a spokesperson for local emergency services, a miscreant opened fire at a church in the suburbs of Fort Worth. As a result, one person killed on the spot, while one other sustained severe injuries later succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot, a suburb northwest of Fort Worth, where the West Freeway Church of Christ is situated, local media cited. The Fort Worth Fire Department issued an active threat assignment at around 1730 GMT and was assisting operations at the scene, according to police reports.
A local informed a local CBS associate, that an armed man with a gun walked up to an attendant during communion and opened fire, before being shot by a person attending the service.
Officials believed the attacker was among the three people shot but it was not known whether he had been killed or injured, CBS 11 reported.
The New York Daily News stated that the attack was recorded on video as the church service was actually being streamed on YouTube.
