In Attock, two people were killed when armed motorcycle riders opened fire on a vehicle within the jurisdiction of Rango Police Station. According to police, the incident took place near Malho Mor, where the two men were targeted.
According to media reports, the deceased have been identified as Abdul Shakoor and Atif Niaz, both of whom were reportedly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Following the incident, police collected evidence from the crime scene and launched an investigation.
Initial reports indicate that Abdul Shakoor and Atif Niaz were travelling in a Prado, registration number BRR-432. As they approached Malho Mor, motorcycle-riding assailants allegedly opened fire on their vehicle, killing both men on the spot.
After receiving information about the incident, DPO Attock Captain (Retd.) Ali Bin Tariq, SP Investigation Zainab Ayub, DSP Hazro Arshad Khattak, and other senior police officers reached the scene. The officers inspected the crime scene and formed special teams to apprehend the suspects.
The bodies of the two victims were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hazro for legal formalities and post-mortem examinations. Police later registered a double-murder case against six suspects, including two unidentified individuals.
According to the FIR, when Abdul Shakoor and Atif Niaz reached near Malho Mor, Attaullah and Sanaullah, along with their associates and two unidentified accomplices, were allegedly already present at the location. The FIR states that Attaullah and Sanaullah allegedly opened fire on the two men.
According to the case registered by police, the victims were killed on the spot as a result of pistol fire. Police said preliminary investigations suggest that a longstanding personal enmity may have been the motive, while efforts to arrest the suspects are ongoing.
