KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested three men for allegedly supplying drugs to college students in different areas of the metropolis.
According to police sources, on a tip-off, a police team conducted a targeted raid in Malir’s Jaffer-e-Tayar Society and arrested three drug peddlers.
The police were in search of the suspects involved in drug supply to college and university students from their house for long and they were arrested today, the sources said.
Police sources said during the initial interrogation, the accused confessed to supplying drugs to the students.
The held suspects revealed that they had stolen several cars from Clifton, Defence and other areas and handed them over to a man in Balochistan. They said that in return he gave them hashish, ice and cash.
The suspects brought drugs to Karachi from Balochistan and distributed them to students of schools and colleges in Defence, Clifton and other ‘posh areas’ of the city, added the Sources.
Police also seized packets of drugs, illegal weapons and stolen cell phones from their hideout. The cell phones used by the accused were sent to forensics, police added. Police registered separate cases against the arrested accused and started further investigation.
