In the political corridors, everyone knows that PTI fascist leader Imran Khan was forbidden from announcing the long march. Imran Khan himself has said in an interview that the promises made to him were broken. He doesn’t say who promises him and what were those promises? But if we look at his statement in the context of the statement of the Speaker of Punjab Assembly Pervez Elahi, in which it was said that “Imran Khan is still in touch with the Establishment” then it does not take long to understand who made the promises and what are these promises likely to be? Some senior analysts clearly say that Sheikh Rashid was leaving the 48-hour tale because Imran Khan was promised that new elections would be announced in the next 48 hours. But all this is in spite of being very speculative, yet only “speculation”. But there is one thing in this whole speculation, one part of which everyone heard and saw while the other part came out as a result of this hearing and seeing.
During Imran Khan’s press conference In Peshawar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi received a call. Hearing this call, Shah Mehmood Qureshi whispered in Imran Khan’s ear. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “They are saying that they will trap you.” Imran Khan replied, “Do it.” For two days, analysts concluded that the call was a threat. But what happened on the day of the Long March on May 25, made it clear that the call was not a threat but an “intelligence”. Imran Khan turned a blind eye to this news but on May 25, the whole nation saw him being trapped. He had fallen into his own trap that day. And they didn’t know what to do now. The result of this trapping was that on the morning of May 25, Imran Khan realized that he had been trapped. What he did to get out of this trap can be gauged from the fact that on May 25, at around one o’clock in the afternoon, a news channel broke the news that an agreement had been reached between the government and the PTI. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, and Asad Umar represented the PTI in “behind-the-scenes talks” for the agreement. And it was agreed that PTI will not allow any sit-in in Islamabad, it will just hold a rally and leave, so let it come to the federal capital.
Shortly afterward, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb denied any such deal. She also said that no such talks had taken place. But on the same day, Ayaz Sadiq, a former speaker from PML-N, revealed that a PTI team had come for talks and it also told him what PTI want. However, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb was unaware of this. This means that Imran Khan, who was trapped in a sit-in trap, was just trying to get out of the trap behind the scenes, but the situation was now trap-by-trap. There is a famous English saying that a loser cannot make others fulfill his conditions. The same thing happened with Imran Khan that day. PTI was demanding a safe exit from the backdoor, but the government flatly refused to give it to the losing PTI. In this situation, Imran Khan, who had been waiting for the ‘army’ of 2 million since morning at Swabi Interchange, was so badly trapped that in the evening, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan gave a day-long report on his press conference and took a jibe of PTI Chief. How could he let this opportunity go? His rival, who claimed to have an ‘army’ of 2 million, had been standing helplessly for hours with five to ten thousand workers at Swabi. Only 150-200 rioters reached Bati Chowk in Lahore, while in Karachi, where millions of people took to the streets the night Imran Khan was ousted, only a few hundred rioters reached Nomaish Chorangi.
Only those who have been his facilitators since 2014 came to rescue the trapped Imran Khan. As a result of this facilitation, all avenues were opened and the caravan stuck in Swabi helplessly from the morning, started moving ahead. And by the time the convoy entered Islamabad, its vanguard began setting fire to trees and the government properties. Thus, what Rana Sanaullah had been saying for many days proved to be true that PTI’s intention was not for peaceful political activity but for riots. If these rioters had the public power to enter Islamabad, they would not have had to stand in Swabi from morning till evening. They would have started this riot with the people’s power in the morning if had power. But they were helpless and it was the government that made them helpless. Their riot was made possible when their helplessness was ended by an order and they were given free hand.
As soon as they got out of the trap, they came, set fire to Islamabad, and left. But these rioters have left behind some very important questions. Imran Khan had dubbed this march as “True Freedom March”. It was also claimed that until getting real freedom from the “imported government” they would not sit with relaxation. There will be a formal sit-in and it will continue until getting real freedom. So why did this riot remain limited to only one night? Did they want freedom from the trees of Islamabad so that the riot went away as soon as this task was completed? What was the real purpose of this one-day march which was carried out suddenly despite the being forbidden? The answer lies in the appeal of the wife of Kashmiri guerrilla leader Yasin Malik to Imran Khan to extend the March date by two days. An Indian court was set to sentence Yasin Malik on May 25 and she wanted not to distract the nation’s attention from this point. But Imran Khan not only practically rejected the appeal but now the “one-day” riot has made it clear that the real purpose behind the march was only that. This is not just an accusation. We all know how Imran Khan has been paying homage to India in the last days of his premiership. And since then, as a result of targeting the Pakistani military, the Indian media has been praising Iman Khan with great enthusiasm. This is a complete pattern. In the first phase of this pattern, he is seen praising India. In the second phase, he is seeing terming the army leadership as “traitors” and in the third phase, on the day of Yasin Malik’s execution, the entire nation’s attention was focused on Swabi and Islamabad instead of Delhi. If this was not the real aim, then this one-day activity could also have been done on 27th May. Why did he insist on May 25 to the extent that he rejected the appeal of Malik’s oppressed wife? If it was not the purpose, then PTI should explain that was the target could be achieved only on 25th May and not on 27th May? As it has been proven that “real freedom” was just a drama. If this was a real goal, it would not be compromised. Freedom caravans do not care about tanks and courts. History is full of the facts that freedom fighters have always looked in the eyes of judges and said that they would never compromise on freedom.
