The much-awaited romantic drama of Dhanush and Kriti Sanon has finally hit the theatres, and as early numbers come in, the Aanand L. Rai-directed film seems to be making a strong splash in the Hindi film market.
Tere Ishk Mein is an intense romantic action drama that acts as a spiritual successor to Raanjhanaa, starring Dhanush as Shankar and Kriti Sanon as Mukti.
The story follows Shankar Gurukkal, the fiery and rebellious president of DUSU, known for his streak of violence. In the same college, Mukti Behniwal, a student, presents her thesis wherein she claims that even the most violent individuals can be transformed into peaceful, non-violent human beings with the right intervention.

While she is making her presentation, Shankar bursts into the hall chasing another student and creating a ruckus. The professors, played by Chittaranjan Tripathy and Jaya Bhattacharya, seize the opportunity to assert that some men are irredeemable. At this, Mukti makes it a mission to change Shankar. If she succeeds, her professors promise to pass her thesis.
Box Office
The film has collected a fantastic ₹5.65 crore net gross in India, as per Sacnilk, which is good for a romantic drama released on a non-holiday.
Tere Ishk Mein reportedly has a budget of ₹85 crore and was filmed across Delhi, Varanasi, and Mumbai. If box-office predictions hold, Tere Ishk Mein may become Dhanush’s highest Hindi-market opening to date. The film is also poised to become Kriti Sanon’s second-highest post-COVID opener after Adipurush and her third-biggest opener of all time.
