The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a petition challenging amendments to the NAB law for an indefinite period.
The case was heard by a special three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
The court sought replies from the parties involved in the case.
The petition was filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The chief justice asked Imran’s lawyer to explain on what grounds he is challenging the amendments.
The bench ordered Imran and federal government to submit written suggestions to the court.
The Supreme Court also hinted at the conclusion of the case soon.
The chief justice remarked, if need be, the court will fix the case for hearing again.
Saying this, the court adjourned the case for indefinite period.
