MUSCAT: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed his condolence over the passing of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos calling him a great man.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi who is currently on a regional peace mission, earlier arrived in Oman to offered his condolence over the demise of Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said.
In a post, the foreign minister wrote, “The late Sultan Qaboos was a great man. May Allah Bless his soul.”

Earlier on Monday, Qureshi arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh for underlining the need to reduce tension in the Middle East region to ensure peace, stability, and security.
Qureshi, who is on a visit to Oman, met the newly appointed Sultan Haitham and condoled over the demise of one of the Middle East’s longest-serving rulers.
Sultan Qaboos bin Said on Friday after more than four decades as the country’s ruler. The late sultan was born on November 18, 1940, in Salalah, the capital of Oman’s southern province of Dhofar.
Qaboos is a direct descendant of the founder of the Al Bu Said dynasty, which created the sultanate in the 1600s after expelling the Portuguese from Muscat, now Oman’s capital.
