Street crimes rising at alarming rate in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The graph of street crimes in federal capital’s sector I-9 had jumped to an alarming height and criminals were depriving citizens of their valuables.
A security supervisor of COMSATS University Islamabad was injured by robbers over resistance within the limits of  Industrial Area Police Station Islamabad.
According to sources, two robbers riding a motorbike tried to loot the security supervisor of COMSATS University at gunpoint in the federal capital’s sector I-9. However, the victim showed resistance to the assailants at which the robbers beat up severely  and injured him.
While the robbers were trying to flee, the victim kicked and dropped the robbers from motorcycle in an attempt to capture them. Both robbers left their motorcycle and fled.
The victim alleged that police arrived late despite timely report of the incident.  Such incidents of street crimes are on the rise again in the area adding that this was second case of robbery during the ten days in the area.
The victims also alleged that police did not register cases against the robbers They said citizens have deep concern  over the robbery  incidents in Islamabad.
They further said  that the graph of street crime in the city had jumped to an alarming height and criminals were depriving citizens of their valuables.
Many people have lost their lives and others have been injured during street crimes. They had requested the authorities to direct the police and other law enforcement agencies to take action against the criminals and provide protection to the citizens, which was their duty under the law.
