Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a temporary suspension of gas supply in several areas of Karachi to facilitate the commissioning of a new 16-inch-diameter gas pipeline.
According to the utility, the commissioning of the new pipeline from Abul Hasan Isfahani Road to Gulshan-e-Maymar is scheduled to begin tonight. During the operation, all relevant Town Border Stations (TBS) located on Abul Hasan Isfahani Road will be shifted to the new 16-inch-diameter pipeline.
To complete the work, gas supply will remain suspended from 10:00 pm on Saturday until 10:00 am on Sunday.
The suspension will affect parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Maymar and Abul Hasan Isfahani Road, as well as some areas of Metroville, Scheme 33 and Al Asif Square.
SSGC has requested consumers in the affected areas to cooperate during the scheduled maintenance period and assured them that gas supply will be restored as soon as the work is completed.
