LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that sudden spike in terrorism esp in the midst of urban centres reflects a failure of intelligence.

His comments came after last evening’s attack on Karachi Police Office (KPO) in which 4 people including security personnel lost their lives while three terrorists were killed. The attack which began after 7 pm continued for hours during which intense gunfire and multiple explosions were witnessed.

The attack came as a wake up call for not only the civilian administration but also the security top brass which later decided to conduct a ‘security audit’ of the provincial apparatus and find loop holes in the defense lines.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Imran Khan strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Karachi Police Office yesterday, and said “once again our brave police were targeted.”
Criticizing the current adminsitrative set up, Khan said the sudden spike in terrorism esp in the midst of urban centres reflects a failure of intelligence and the State’s lack of a clear proactive anti terrorism policy.
