In a village on the outskirts of Gujrat district, an unruly son killed his fasting mother for delaying breakfast, as reported by national media.
According to a report by Dawn News, the tragic incident took place in Marriyan village, located within the jurisdiction of Industrial Estate 2 police station in Gujrat, where a man allegedly killed his fasting mother for delaying breakfast.
The report, citing police sources stated that a person named Usman Nawaz had asked his mother, Razia Bibi, to prepare breakfast. However, the mother replied that she was fasting and wanted to rest for a while, so she asked him to be patient.
The son became enraged due to the delay in breakfast and struck his mother on the head with an iron rod, resulting in the death of the fasting woman on the spot. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene, arrested the accused, and transferred the woman’s body to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem.
The police have registered a case against the accused under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the woman’s brother, Farman Ali.
