PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has clarified the context of his meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi following criticism and questions raised by Aleema Khan regarding the interaction.
In a statement posted on X, Sohail Afridi shared Aleema Khan’s tweet and said his meeting with Mohsin Naqvi was held in connection with the recent terrorism incidents in Bannu and matters relating to law and order in the province.

He maintained that no political discussion took place during the meeting, contrary to reports circulating on social media.
“My meeting with Mohsin Naqvi was regarding the terrorism incidents in Bannu and the province’s security situation. No political talks took place, as is being reported,” Sohail Afridi wrote.
The clarification came after Aleema Khan stated on X that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Sohail Afridi had met Mohsin Naqvi without informing the family of Imran Khan. She said no member of the family was aware of the meeting or present during it.
Earlier, a journalist had claimed on social media that Sohail Afridi, Aleema Khan and Mohsin Naqvi met at Barrister Gohar’s residence, alleging the interaction was linked to backchannel contacts between the establishment and PTI. However, Aleema Khan denied being part of the reported meeting.
