KARACHI: The hearing in the Mustafa Amir murder case took an unusual turn as accused Armaghan made startling remarks inside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) during proceedings held at the jail complex in Karachi.
The case, which also includes charges related to an attack on a journalist, came up for hearing before the ATC where Armaghan is the main accused.
During the proceedings, Armaghan created a commotion inside the courtroom and claimed that his mother and lawyer were trying to have him declared mentally unfit. He alleged that they were after his money and insisted that he was completely mentally sound.
Armaghan further stated that he did not require legal representation and wished to defend the case on his own.
The court directed that arguments regarding the possible removal of Anti-Terrorism Act provisions be presented at the next hearing.
Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing until June 1 and summoned prosecution witnesses for the next date.
