In collaboration with Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and British NGO TearFund’s project ‘Hariyali Hub’, a successful experiment has been conducted to recycle polythene bags and make dust bins.

He said that through these two pilot projects waste is already being recycled into organic compost, plastic granules, and plastic flakes, now polythene bags are converted into granules, and plastic dust bins are made from granules. “While other items can also be made,” he maintained. He said that the weight of the dust bin made by recycling the waste is 320 grams and the size is 10 inches.
Imtiaz Ali Shah further said that the work will also be started on the waste-to-energy project of the Sindh government and after the success of this project, this project will be further expanded and recycling plants will be set up in other districts as well. He said that environmental pollution from plastic is increasing, and immediate steps need to be taken to eliminate it.
