Karachi: The Sindh government has failed to provide basic facilities to the flood victims in the tent city established near the National Highway on the outskirts of Karachi. Thousands of victims who have taken refuge in the tent city are facing a very dire situation.
The MM News team recently visited the tent city established by the Sindh government last month and witnessed the plight of the victims who are suffering.
The victims claim that the Sindh government had brought them here with promises, but there is hardly any basic facility there for them. They have failed to provide them even a single meal. The victims currently are relying on an NGO to bring them meals daily.
According to the victims, the provincial government has not even provided potable drinking water. The women, children and the elderly are suffering from various diseases every day, but there is no medicine or doctor available for their treatment, they added.
The victims said that due to the lack of facilities and basic necessities, they are facing a very difficult situation.

The victims pointed out another worrisome situation and said that snakes and scorpions come towards the tent settlement every day, which causes fear and panic among the people and they are always bitten by these dangerous insects.
There are no protection and treatment facilities available in case of bites, due to which the victims suffer from insecurity.
