LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sibtain Khan on Tuesday took oath as Punjab’s provincial minister.
According to sources, during a ceremony at the Governor House Punjab, Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar took oath from him. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other provincial ministers have attended the ceremony at Governor House Punjab.
Earlier, Sibtain Khan had given his resignation from the post of provincial minister for forestry, wildlife and fisheries after being arrested by the NAB in July 2019.
The NAB arrested him on the corruption charges in forestry, wildlife and fisheries department, including handing out illegal tenders in his ministry. He was freed from jail following the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC). Sibtain before held the post of provincial department for natural resources.
He was also earlier a member of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) before joining PTI. Talking to media he turned town all allegation made by NAB and said PTI is only a well-wisher party for the nation in the country.
Citing Iran America clash he said the current situation in the region poses a great threat to peace and if it further worsened.
