This came within days after civil court in Rawalpindi on Saturday rejected Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid’s petition challenging the Lal Haveli’s evacuation orders.
Judge Naveed Akhtar said that the court could not stop any department from taking action under the law, and adjourned the hearing until February 15.
On Sunday, Evacuee Trust Property Board claimed that the ownership documents of one of its eight units were fake, and that in the record books, the property was owned by the trust and not by Sheikh Rashid.

Officials of the ETPB further claimed that although the Awami Muslim League chief claims ownership of the haveli, he has never said who he or his brother purchased it from. That proved he had no trail of the property he claimed to own.
MM News has learnt that in an action supported by local police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the ETPB sealed some 7 units of the Lal Haveli. It has also been learnt that Sheikh Rashid wasn’t present on this occasion, and no resistance was offered during the action.
