RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has received a notice from Evacuee Trust Property Board, asking him to vacate his residence, Lal Haveli, within seven days.
The notices are served to the AML chief and his brother Sheikh Siddique by Evacuee Trust Property Board.
The Deputy Administrator of the Board Asif Khan has also written a letter to Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner requesting police assistance for the retrieval of properties from, what it calls, illegal occupants.
The Deputy Administrator wrote that in the past, several hearings were held in the case of 7 abandoned waqf properties, including Lal Haveli, but despite repeated reminders, Sheikh Rasheed and his brother Sheikh Siddique failed to produce any authentic documents to support their ownership claim.
Responding to the notice, Sheikh Rashid’s lawyer submitted his new ‘Vakalatnama‘ and demanded time for preparation of case, but the Deputy Administrator turned down the request, and ordered Sheikh Rashid to appear today or face action.
