The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday rebounded after witnessing massive selling pressure a day earlier with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining over 5,000 points.

At close, the benchmark index settled at 165,634.84, an increase of 5,043.51 points or 3.14%.

Buying activity was seen across major sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, fertilizer, oil and gas exploration, OMCs, power generation, and refining. Heavyweight stocks such as HBL, MCB, MEBL, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, HUBCO, PRL, and ARL closed in positive territory.

On Monday, the KSE-100 Index recorded a sharp and broad-based decline, reflecting rising investor concerns amid escalating geopolitical tensions and limited progress in US–Iran talks held in Islamabad. The benchmark index dropped by 6,600.05 points, or 3.95%, to settle at 160,591.33 points.

Meanwhile, oil prices edged lower in early Asian trading on Tuesday as indications of possible US–Iran dialogue eased fears of supply disruptions linked to the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Brent crude fell by $1.86, or 1.87%, to $97.50 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude declined $2.25, or 2.27%, to $96.83 per barrel.
