PESHAWAR: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed scrutiny of nomination papers of candidates for the Senate election scheduled on 3rd March 2021.
According to ECP, Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC) and Returning Officer for KP Senate election have completed scrutiny of nomination papers of Farhatullah Babar, Zubair Ali, Rehan Alam Khan, Muhammad Humayun Mohmand, Muhammad Iqbal Khalil, Dost Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Jamal and Muhammad Ali Saif.
Similarly, on general seats, scrutiny of nomination papers of Malik Najab Gul Khalil, Farhatullah Babar, Hidayatullah Khan, Faisal Saleemur Rehman, Abbas Afridi, Dost Muhammad Khan, Najibullah Khattak, Hamidul Haq and Ataur Rehman completed.
On women seats, the scrutiny of nomination papers of nine candidates including Tasleem Begum, Saima Khalid Hameeda Shahid and Asmat Ara Khattak were completed besides all candidates for reserved minority seats.
According to the ECP, the candidates can file appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers on February 20. These appeals will be disposed off until February 23, the notification read.
The revised list of candidates will be published on February 24, while the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until February 25. The ECP has said that the schedule has been revised to benefit the candidates willing to contest elections for the Upper House of Parliament.
