During the course of proceedings today, Shahbaz Gill argued that the statement on the basis of which he was charged with sedition was the same as given by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on TV recently.
Khawaja Asif said the that Faiz Hameed (Ex-DG ISI) shouldn’t have ‘illegal’ orders. Shahbaz Gill said “the same charges are on me,” adding that to his surprise, 48 hours passed but no case was registered against the minister.
After hearing the arguments, Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Supra reserved the judgement which was announced hours later, rejecting Gill’s plea and fixing the date of March 22 for indictment in Sedition case.
