ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces killed 12 terrorists during separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Washuk and Mastung districts, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the operations in Washuk and Mastung, killing a total of 12 militants.
The ISPR said that on August 5, security forces tracked the movement of six terrorists in Washuk district. Acting on intelligence, troops launched a timely operation in which all six militants, identified by the military as members of Fitna al Hindustan, were killed.
In a separate operation on August 6 in Mastung district, security forces engaged militants in an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR said. Six more militants were killed during the operation, while a militant hideout was also destroyed.
The ISPR said that under Azm-e-Istehkam, security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating terrorism and will continue operations until militancy, including what it described as externally sponsored terrorism, is eradicated from the country.
