The price of broiler meat continues to rise in the open market of Lahore, where a huge increase in the price of chicken meat was recorded once again.
After the new prices, purchasing meat is becoming more difficult for ordinary citizens. According to market sources, the price of broiler meat has increased by Rs 21 per kilogram, after which the price of chicken meat has increased to Rs 475 per kilogram.
On the other hand, the price of safi meat has also increased and has reached Rs 575 per kilogram.
According to the market rate, the farm rate of live broiler chicken was set at Rs 300 per kilogram, while the price at the wholesale level has reached Rs 314 per kilogram and at the retail level has reached Rs 328 per kilogram.
Shopkeepers say that there are various reasons for the increase in chicken prices, including production costs, fodder prices and supply and demand in the market. However, due to the continuous increase in prices, consumers are facing severe difficulties.
Citizens have expressed concern over rising inflation, saying that the continuous rise in food prices has affected the household budget. Broiler meat, which was considered a relatively cheap food for the common people, is now becoming out of reach for the middle class.
