The local administration has imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Murree for three days in preparation for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest, announced by the former ruling party for February 8.
According to Express News, a notification has been issued prohibiting all gatherings, processions, rallies, and sit-ins in Murree for three days under Section 144.
Earlier, PTI leader Asad Qaiser announced that the party will observe February 8 as a Black Day to protest what they describe as the rigging of the 2023 elections.

Today, during a court hearing in Islamabad, PTI General Secretary Salman Akram Raja spoke with the media, clarifying that the party’s rally would be limited to Swabi and that they have no intention of inciting violence.
He emphasized that the protest would occur at the union council and tehsil levels and invited supporters to join the movement peacefully, without causing disturbances or clashes.
