ISLAMABAD: The Supreme court will hear a contempt of court case today filed against the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi.
Chief Justice of Pakistan will hear the case. The move came after the petition was filed against Firdous Shamim Naqvi over his disqualification as a member.
The petitioner who filed the plea against him stated that Naqvi had ordered anti-encroachment operations in Karachi. By doing this, he created the restrictions in SC’s way, the petitioner added.
The petion stated that Naqvi had also seated himself in front of an illegal settlement near Alladin Park and dared the authorities to carry on with the encroachment operation.
According to the petitioner, Naqvi should be disqualified immediately on such acts.
Earlier, Firdous Shamim has demanded to give an alternate place to the Karachi Circular Railway’s affectees before bulldozing their houses in the anti-encroachment campaign.
Earlier, the Supreme Court ordered the Sindh government and Railways to remove all encroachments, including all multi-storied buildings that come in the way of Karachi Circular Railways, and ordered to revive the KCR.
