Saylani Welfare International Trust has pledged to establish charitable educational facilities that will enroll a total of 10 million out-of-school children across Pakistan.
As per Startups Pakistan, the announcement was made during the organization’s annual symposium by the founder, Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri, who emphasized the importance of providing world-class academic and skill-based education to the children of Pakistan.
He also highlighted the significance of Zakat and other charitable donations for the welfare initiatives of sincere charities. The Saylani Welfare founder expressed gratitude to the donors and philanthropists for generously contributing to Saylani’s ever-expanding welfare activities.
Saylani has achieved several outstanding accomplishments in IT education. Graduates of Saylani Mass IT Education Drive have helped Pakistan attain fourth place in the World Index of Freelancers.
As per data released approximately two years ago, there are over 26 million out-of-school children in Pakistan. Thirty-nine percent of children in the school-going age group are currently out of school.
Balochistan stands out with the highest percentage, where a staggering 65 percent of children are out of school, while Islamabad Capital Territory reports the lowest percentage.
In comparison among the major provinces, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa fares better with a 30 percent out-of-school rate. Despite a decrease in the percentage of out-of-school children from 44 percent in 2016-17 to 39 percent in 2021-22, the absolute number has surged from 22.02 million to 26.21 million during the same period.
