RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has announced the lifting of the restrictions on Umrah and travel from tomorrow after more than seven months
Saudi Arabia has given permission to perform Umrah in stages after seven months. According to Arab media, Umrah has been allowed in three stages.
The first phase will start on 4th October, in which Saudi citizens and foreigners residing in Saudi Arabia will be allowed to perform Umrah. Six thousand pilgrims will be able to enjoy daily Umrah.
The second phase will begin on 18th October, allowing Saudi citizens and foreigners residing in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, pilgrimage, and prayers.
In the second phase, 15,000 pilgrims will perform Umrah daily, while 40,000 people will be able to offer prayers in the Grand Mosque. Worshipers will be allowed to go up to 75 percent of the capacity of the Prophet’s Mosque.
In the third phase, from 1st November, Muslims living outside Saudi Arabia will also be allowed to perform Umrah, 20,000 pilgrims will be able to enjoy daily Umrah, while 60,000 people will be allowed to pray in the Grand Mosque.
At least 20,000 people from all over the world will be able to go to the Holy Hijaz for Umrah every day. Measures to prevent coronavirus during Umrah will be strictly followed.
