Saudi Arabia has introduced a mandatory digital food voucher system for Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Egypt, with the new policy set to take effect from 1st Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Under the initiative, pilgrims will receive food vouchers worth around 20 Saudi Riyals per day, which will be automatically included in the overall Umrah visa fee.
The system will be managed entirely through the official Nusuk app, where each pilgrim will receive a unique digital code linked to their visa.
The code can be used to obtain meals from approximately 10,000 approved restaurants in Makkah and Madinah.
Saudi authorities said the move aims to provide pilgrims with better quality and organized food services, while discouraging unregistered service providers and improving overall Umrah arrangements.
The new digital system is part of broader efforts to bring hotel bookings, transportation, meals, and other facilities for pilgrims onto a single digital platform.
Following the introduction of the policy, the overall cost of Umrah packages is expected to increase.
