Saudi Arabia beheads three Pakistanis, nine others in 10 days

Saudi Arabia has executed 12 people including three Pakistani in the last 10 days. These mostly include beheadings with a sword.

The defendants were sentenced to death after being imprisoned on non-violent drug charges and included three Pakistanis, four Syrians, two Jordanians, and three Saudis, according to the Telegraph.

With this, the total number of people executed this year is at least 132, exceeding those of 2020 and 2021 combined,

Saudi Arabia has a criminal justice system based on a form of Shari’ah reflecting a particular state-sanctioned interpretation of Islam. Execution is usually carried out by beheading with a sword and hanging but may occasionally be performed by shooting or Firing Squad. Saudi Arabia performs public executions.
