Former Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has gracefully embraced a new chapter in her life following her separation from ex-husband Shoaib Malik, who recently surprised many with his second marriage to actress Sana Javed. Mirza, undeterred by the personal development, marked her return to the sports world as a commentator during the recently concluded Australian Open 2024.
Expressing her gratitude towards the sports channel ‘Sony Pictures Networks,’ where she served as a commentator, Mirza shared her enthusiasm for the two weeks spent covering the Australian Open. Taking to her Instagram, she posted a three-gallery picture showcasing her time at the event. The caption read, “Amazing two weeks with @sonysportsnetwork for the Australian Open… so much history created once again! Especially by our very own @rohanbopanna0403.”

In the photographs, Mirza exuded confidence in a black ensemble, featuring a long skirt paired with a black coat and undershirt. Her accessories included bracelets, rings, earrings, a necklace, and a watch. With her hair styled in a ponytail and minimal makeup, Mirza radiated happiness in the first photo, while the subsequent ones captured her posing for the camera.
Just two days prior, she shared a video on Instagram, showcasing her resilience both on and off the court. The caption read, “Pushing the limits on and off the court, I took @samsoniteindia on an intense test of strength and endurance. Check out it cracks under pressure!” The accompanying video highlighted Mirza’s tennis prowess.

Sania Mirza’s father, Imran Mirza, expressed that his daughter enjoys sharing her insights about the sport. “She enjoys commentating. Sania understands the game well and since she has played with most of the women and some of the men and knows them personally, temperamentally, and their game technically, Sania will be able to give her insights which viewers enjoy,” he stated.
It is noteworthy that Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik have been married since 2010 and share a five-year-old son named Izhaan. However, recent reports confirm that Sania Mirza sought separation from Shoaib Malik through khula, exercising her right to divorce in the Muslim tradition. Mirza’s return to the sports arena as a commentator marks a resilient and positive step forward in her professional journey after the recent personal developments.
