LAHORE: Pakistani actress Sanam Jung and her daughter Alaya have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, she confirmed on Sunday night.
The actor revealed in an Instagram story that both herself and her daughter Alaya have quarantined themselves. “I would like to inform all my well-wishers that I have tested positive for COVID-19,” she wrote.
“My daughter and I have been in complete isolation and thankfully, Alhamdulillah have no severe symptoms.” she said, adding, “I would request all of you to take this pandemic seriously.”
She further wrote, “COVID-19 is real, please necessary precautions. Wear a mask and avoid public spaces. Stay indoors and be safe. Remember me and my daughter in your prayers.”
The news came shortly after Humsafar star, Mahira Khan had revealed that she had tested positive for the virus. Khan urged her supporters to stay safe and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Another 36 people have died in Pakistan due to COVID-19, while 2,362 new cases were reported in the country, according to the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).
According to the NCOC, the rate of positive cases in Hyderabad was 18.43 percent. Karachi 17.39 percent, Azad Kashmir 10.83 percent, Balochistan 11.62 percent, Gilgit-Baltistan 2.68 percent, Islamabad 6.16 percent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 11.29 percent, and Sindh 11.47 percent.
