Amid a nationwide boycott campaign Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haidar Khan, has officially banned the use of Israeli brands, products, and foreign beverages within the Governor House Lahore.
As per details, during a meeting at the Governor’s House on Sunday, attended by former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Punjab Assembly Parliamentary Leader Haider Ali Gilani, and senior leader Chaudhry Manzoor among other PPP officials, Governor Haidar said that as long as he is in the office no Israeli items would be permitted in the Governor’s House.
The Governor also urged the public to boycott any products that financially benefit Israel or other ‘oppressive forces,’ conveying a collective message that the Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with the oppressed.
Just a day earlier, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, had addressed the “Gaza Solidarity March” in Karachi, emphasizing the need to boycott Israeli products.
Furthermore, on April 10, a national conference organized by the Pakistan Unity Council in Islamabad discussed “Palestine and the Responsibilities of the Muslim Ummah.”
During the gathering, attendees demanded a cessation of relations with countries that maintain diplomatic and trade ties with Israel until an unconditional ceasefire is achieved.
On April 11, protests erupted in major cities across Pakistan, showcasing solidarity with Palestine and opposition to Israeli aggression, with various political groups participating.
