Two prominent priest organizations in Uttarakhand, India, the Char Dham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat and the Brahma Kapal Teerth Purohit Panchayat Samiti, have called for police action against Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, who has denied their allegations.
According to Indian media, the demand follows a viral video in which Rautela allegedly claimed that a temple near Badrinath is named after her. The priest groups assert that her statement is false and has hurt religious sentiments.

Despite the controversy, Rautela continues to be active in the film industry. She recently appeared in the Telugu action drama Daaku Maharaaj (2025), directed by Bobby Kolli. The film, which also stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bobby Deol, was released on January 12, 2025, and has become one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year.
Additionally, Rautela is set to feature in the Hindi thriller Ghuspaithiya, a remake of the Tamil film Thiruttu Payale 2. The film, which has been showcased at international film festivals, is expected to release later this year. Wikipedia
