Pakistan cricket team’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Muhammad Rizwan, has shared that both Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan were encouraged by him and Babar Azam to consider marriage. Furthermore, Rizwan mentioned that Babar Azam is also set to tie the knot soon.
In an interview with Geo News, Rizwan emphasized the sacred nature of marriage, stating that it is a divine command from Allah. According to him, Babar Azam is set to enter this sacred bond shortly after the conclusion of the ongoing PSL-9.
Rizwan highlighted the close friendship he shares with Babar Azam, mentioning their late-night discussions and mutual consultations on various aspects of life. Unlike with others, he clarified that there is no need for prior messaging before visiting each other’s rooms, as they share a comfortable and open camaraderie.
The wicketkeeper-batsman also commented on the emerging talent in Pakistan’s domestic cricket, citing players like Ehsanullah, Asif Ali, and Muhammad Ali, who rose through the ranks with Multan Sultans. He reminisced about a time when players predominantly emerged from Lahore, Karachi, and Sialkot.
Speaking about the high standards of club cricket in Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rizwan praised the province’s cricketers for their hardworking nature. He highlighted their commitment, mentioning that they not only play Pakistan matches at night but also engage in club matches in the morning.
Expressing his perspective on cricket, Rizwan stated, “I take pride in being called a cricketer. Performances may have their ups and downs, but I draw confidence from the poetry written on trucks. Currently, I seek inspiration from Multan Sultans coach Abdur Rahman, who has faced numerous challenges, including threats for taking up the coaching role in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
