Target killings are increasing in the major cities of Pakistan, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, which may be due to personal enmity, politics or prejudice.
The process of political strife, ethnic prejudice and division in the country for the past several years has fueled mutual hatred and prejudice, but basically the majority of the country is a follower of Islam, which teaches peace and security.
Still, Pakistan had to bear huge loss of life and money due to target killing and terrorism. Political stability and economic development were also damaged by the increase in crime. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan says that there were more than 1300 target killing incidents in 2020.
The increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan last year i.e., 2022 was the second highest in the world. In 2021, 292 while in 2022, 643 people died due to terrorism.
GTI i.e., Global Terrorism Index says that if we review since 2017, Pakistan has become the country facing the most terrorism in South Asia by crossing Afghanistan.
In particular, TTP, BLA and other terrorists have targeted cities like Quetta and Peshawar, where news of bomb blasts, martyrdoms and other loss of life and property continue to emerge every day.
Due to target killing, feelings of insecurity and fear arise among the people. Foreign investment starts to fall rapidly and the damage done to Pakistan’s reputation in the international community is beyond description.
When someone says that the situation in Pakistan is not good, the citizens of our country should not go there, no matter which country he belongs to, every citizen of Pakistan feels sad.
Former SP Farhat Abbas was shot dead yesterday. This sad incident happened in Lahore. An armed man on motorcycle wearing a helmet came and killed SP Farhat Abbas and fled.
Whatever be the motive of the martyrdom, it is a point of great concern for the common citizen that when the police cannot protect the lives of their ex-officers, how will they protect their lives?
According to the current scientific development, there is a need to equip the police with modern equipment and weapons so that they can take care of the safety of the public in various densely populated and somewhat deserted places.
