A case has been registered against a man in Rawalpindi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 for sharing a video of a traffic official lifting a wrongly parked car on social media. The complaint was lodged by Traffic Warden Imran Sikandar at the Cantt Police Station.
According to case details, the accused filmed a vehicle being towed for illegal parking and later uploaded the footage online. Authorities clarified that the car had been lawfully ticketed for being parked in a no-parking zone.

The FIR states that the incident occurred outside a shop, where the shop owner recorded the video. The footage was allegedly shared with the intent to provoke public discontent against the traffic police.
Officials argue that the act falls under Section 21(1)(d) of PECA 2016, which pertains to online harassment and the intentional spread of misinformation.
