It is a historic moment for Indian cinema that Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will be seen together on the big screen again.
The upcoming film, currently being titled KHxRK, will be the big collaboration of the two great artists after decades.
The film will be directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar and will be produced by Red Giant Movies. Dilip Kumar had previously worked with Rajinikanth in the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which made him one of the most successful directors in the Tamil film industry.
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were often seen together in the 1970s and 1980s, and this era is called the golden era of Tamil films. Their famous films include Apoorva Raagangal, Mundru Madichu, Avargal, 16 Vaithaneele, and Nainaithale Anikekum.
Their last major collaboration was the 1979 fantasy film Alauddinam Bhuta Vilakum, after which Kamal Haasan made a cameo appearance in Thallu Mallu in 1981.
The production team reacted, with a spokesperson for Red Giant Movies calling the collaboration a “dream come true” and saying that it is an honour and a historic moment for us to bring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth together. We are determined to make this film a celebration of the legacy of these two great artists.
The release date of the film has not been announced yet, but it will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages so that audiences across India can watch it.
The return of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to the screen has created immense excitement among fans and the project is set to become one of the most talked-about films in current Indian cinema.
