ISLAMABAD: Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced on Thursday evening that the Rabiul Awwal moon was sighted, therefore, the month of Rabiul Awwal is commencing from Friday, October 08, and Eid-i-Miladun Nabi would fall on October 19.
The announcement was made after a meeting of the committee presided over by Maulana Abdul Khabir. Religious scholars from all schools of thought and weather experts attended the meeting.
The rest of the zonal/ district committees met at their respective provincial/ district headquarters. Quoting astronomical considerations, Azad had said the chances of sighting the new crescent Thursday evening were “very bright”.
