Punjab’s ambitious Free Solar Panel Scheme, aimed at distributing solar panel systems to 100,000 households in 2025, has garnered widespread attention since its launch.
Announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on December 6, 2024, the scheme is designed to benefit households with monthly electricity consumption between 100 and 200 units. The initiative not only aims to reduce electricity bills for eligible participants but also promotes environmental sustainability by lowering carbon emissions. Projections suggest that the program could reduce carbon emissions by approximately 57,000 tons annually.
The final date for registration in the Rs10 billion initiative was January 5, 2025, and applicants are now eagerly awaiting updates on the status of their applications.
