The Punjab Tourism Department will launch its new modern double-decker buses on World Tourism Day, September 27.
According to APP, the buses, which are fully air-conditioned, were originally scheduled to begin service on August 14 but were delayed due to departmental issues.
These buses, provided by the World Bank to boost tourism, have yet to arrive at the terminal.
In a related development, the Punjab government has formed a working group of 18 departments to begin preparing Project Concept One (PC-1) for the proposed glass train project.
This train will operate on a 65-kilometer track from Rawalpindi’s Saddar area to Bhurban Murree, passing through scenic areas like the Margalla Hills and Barakahu.
The project, called the Murree Rail Link, is part of the broader Murree Development Plan. The National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) has been assigned to conduct a feasibility study for the initiative.
