The Punjab government has announced strict measures to maintain cleanliness during Eidul Adha, imposing a Rs50,000 fine on anyone found dumping sacrificial animals’ offal and waste on streets, roads, drains or canals.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who directed authorities to ensure effective sanitation arrangements and strict implementation of Eid SOPs across the province.
The chief minister instructed authorities to strictly enforce the ban on selling sacrificial animals outside designated cattle markets and to crack down on illegal livestock trading in unauthorized areas. Officials informed the meeting that cattle markets would be digitally monitored, while enhanced security arrangements would help prevent cattle theft and robbery.
Maryam Nawaz also ordered strict enforcement of restrictions on hide collection by banned organizations and on the use of loudspeakers at hide-collection camps.
She directed authorities to intensify combing operations in sensitive areas and ensure a complete ban on aerial firing and display of weapons.
The CM further ordered uninterrupted water supply, cleanliness at Eidgahs, mosques and public areas, display of fare lists in buses, and safety inspections of amusement rides across the province during the Eid holidays this year.
