Punjab administration claims Zaman Park No Go area cleared

LAHORE: The Punjab administration has claimed that a ‘No Go’ area has been cleared today as a result of police operation conducted in Zaman Park, the residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan who is in Islamabad to attend court’s proceedings in Toshakhana case.

Addressing a press conference, caretaker information minister Amir Mir said no ‘No Go’ area would be tolerated in Punjab.

Speaking on this occasion, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar claimed that the operation at Zaman Park was conducted after getting warrant from Anti-Terrorism Court. He said police found bunkers set up inside Zaman Park’s residence, while petrol bombs and arms were also recovered during the search operation.

IG Punjab claimed that police did not carry weapon when proceeded for action at Zaman Park today, adding that as per law, IG and CCPO could order to open fire.

He assured that no one would be subject to any unfair practice.

Amir Mir  on this occasion said he would soon share videos of arms, recovered from Zaman Park, with the media.
