KARACHI: Karachi police on Wednesday arrested Paksitan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former lawmaker Alamgir Khan Mehsood soon after he returned from Islamabad after attendeing the party protest rally.
According to media reports, the police arrested him from his residence in Gulshan Iqbal citing the First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against him in Islamabad.
According to the family, Alamgir was arrested from his residence.
PTI Karachi President Raja Azhar has condemned the arrest stating that the party will knock on the doors of the court to get him released.
Earlier, Alamgir was also arrested from outside the Karachi Press Club when he along with other PTI leaders staged a protest demonstration against the Israeli aggression on Palestinians.
